The small barren island, Pater Noster, has become one of the world's most talked-about destinations. Now Pater Noster is nominated for this year's Great Tourism Award 2022!
- It is a privilege to be able to refine 150 years of history in an outstandingly beautiful place, far out to sea, and it is an honour to be nominated and to represent Västra Götaland in the Great Tourism Award 2022, says Mirja Lilja Hagsjö, CEO & founder of Pater Noster A home on the horizon.
Pater Noster, A home on the horizon, represents Västra Götaland in the Great Tourism Award 2022, with the motivation:
"Pater Noster has redefined the concept of luxury hotels. Through in-depth knowledge, willingness to invest and a worldwide network of contacts, the small barren island has become one of the world's most talked-about destinations."
The prize, awarded for the 29th consecutive year, is given to an activity that contributes in an innovative and sustainable way to the development of the hospitality industry.
- Pater Noster's owners and management are unique when it comes to spreading their message across the world, making Pater Noster a draw for the whole of western Sweden's visitor industry. They are also good at sustainability and are constantly improving on the environmental, social and economic aspects of this. In addition, Pater Noster has completely redefined the concept of luxury hotels. Instead of opulence, it is the rugged, weather-beaten location with a genuine history that constitutes luxury. Pater Noster is an incredibly worthy candidate for the Great Tourism Award 2022, says Fredrik Lindén, CEO of Turistrådet Västsverige.
The award will be presented on 30 November at Vasateatern in Stockholm. To win the Stora Turismpriset, the 21 nominated entries must be able to show that they contribute to new thinking and innovative development of the tourism industry. This includes working methodically and purposefully to develop, disseminate and share knowledge and to develop a sustainable business.
