Traveling by car to Marstrand/Rönnäng:
From central Gothenburg it is about 45-50 km to Marstrand's ferry location, E6, road 168. Travel time about 60min.
From Strömstad (from the north) it is about 150 km to Rönnäng on Tjörn, E6, road 160 from Stenungsund. Travel time about 2h.
If you travel by plane: From Landvetter Airport to Marstrand's ferry location, it is about 60 km away and takes about 1.15h by car, road 40, E6, road 168.
There are also airport buses to the Central Station for change to MarstrandsExpress.
From Gothenburg Central Station you can take a bus, MarstrandsExpressen, travel time about 45 minutes. See the current timetable for exact departure times at Västtrafik.
Information about the boat trip
Travel time about 15 min from both Marstrand south and Rönnäng north.
Clothes: On board there are flotation suits, life jackets and everything you need. We recommend wearing loose shoes on the trip that can withstand some water splashes and a pair in reserve for the stay on the island.
Safety: Despite the sometimes challenging sea conditions, RIB boats offer a comfortable ride. The inflatable pontoons reduce the feeling of bumps and waves, making the crossing smoother and more pleasant for passengers. The boat ride is classified as "comfort".
Good to know: If you have a problem with your back or neck, are pregnant, have extra equipment to bring on board such as a stroller, or need XXXL on a flotation suit, please let us know at the time of booking. The skipper can then get in touch and plan the best possible trip for you.
Packing: Pack in soft, waterproof sports bags, as the boats have limited cargo space.
