Experience the island
Please do not hesitate to contact our staff about requests and ordering food or any allergies and special diets. Feel free to borrow a picnic basket, buy a coffee and sit on the rocks and enjoy the coffee after a dip in the sea or enjoy lunch in the Lighthouse Master's courtyard.

Transportation to the island

If you come with your own boat, there is a guest harbor for visits to the café for a maximum of 2 hours, it then allows for rotation in the harbor and that everyone gets an opportunity to experience the island. The harbor is small and requires great seamanship in windy weather. Feel free to call our skippers who will solve your transportation, see more information here.‍

The kitchen

Our ambition

We take our inspiration from the sea and use its treasures to create new delicacies. We focus on the highest quality in terms of both raw materials and preparation and our menu changes according to the season.

Our ambition is that you as a guest, in addition to a wonderful meal, also get something more, something new, something educational. It may be your first encounter with seaweed and algae, a lesson in other exciting new ingredients from the sea or a history lesson in what people ate on the island 100 years ago.

Our chef Johan Bengtsson is not only an experienced and extremely talented chef, but also a trained marine biologist and professional diver. Johan's knowledge of the sea's pantry, together with his curiosity and skill as a chef, results in menus with a unique character - where modern cuisine is combined with the classic. We love to see him dive into the sea and harvest seaweed which becomes a unique flavoring in our dishes but also in our pastries.

The Wine Cellar

The lighthouse families food cellar

We are proud of our wine cellar at Pater Noster, as well as our knowledgeable sommelier and co-owner Anders, who buys the highest quality wines and keeps our selection up to date. Above all, he ensures that each wine matches and enhances your tasting experience.

We update our wine list continuously, but it always includes our very own, specially imported and unique champagne that can only be enjoyed here at Pater Noster. In addition, we brew our own Pater Noster beer in Gothenburg.

If you are interested in exclusive tastings with unique champagnes and wines, email us your request.
