The sparkling summer has given way to fall in Bohuslän. The winds are picking up, the evenings are getting darker, and inside the lighthouse keeper’s home, warmth awaits. It’s time to hunt for the black gold.

Come out to sea and experience lobster fishing on Sweden’s west coast alongside a local fisherman. You’ll get to help pull the lobster traps out of the salt water—a tradition that has been passed down along the Bohuslän coast for generations.

Sweden has two completely different coastlines, and when it comes to lobsters, the west coast is where it’s at. Here you’ll find the salty sea and the natural habitat of the Swedish lobster. On the east coast, the waters of the Baltic Sea are brackish, and the Swedish lobster does not occur naturally there in the same way.

Lobster fishing also has a long history on the island of Pater Noster . For the four families who once lived here, lobster was not a luxury item, but a welcome addition to their diet.

Today, fishing marks the beginning of an autumn experience where the sea accompanies you all the way to the table. After hours at sea, your stay continues at Pater Noster with the warmth of the sauna, dinner, the lighthouse’s history, and a night at the very edge of the ocean.
